American Medical Women's Association (AMWA) at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine
AMWA is a national organization with a membership comprised of physicians, residents, medical students, and health care professionals.
Our organization strives to advance women in medicine and improve women's health through developing leadership, advocacy, education, expertise, mentoring, and through building strategic alliances. The AMWA branch at OUWB was chartered in October 2011. We have held networking, community service, health education, social and mentorship events benefitting members and the surrounding community. For two of the past three years, our branch has been the recipient of the Heller Outstanding Branch award - a national recognition given to a single branch that has made exceptional progress.
